Guest Post - Devereau Chumrau - Athletes Among Us by Jordan Matter

Devereau Chumrau - Actor & Yoga Practioner

This guest post is from actor Devereau Chumrau.

Devereau may be a native of Los Angeles, but it is also the time she spent in Ghana, in Europe and the UK, and largely as a student of the Asolo Conservatory in Florida, that has shaped her vision as an actor and as an artist. She has, all along the way, worked to develop her interest and experience in acting for the stage and for the screen.

Catch her show LOVECRAFT: Nightmare Suite opening Jan 31 at the Visceral Company in Hollywood.

Devereau:

We've seen Jordan Matter bring the world of dance out into the world at large with his Dancers Among Us. Here he gives athletes the same treatment in Athletes Among Us.

Video of Ozell Williams - Amazing Jumping and Tumbling Skills

Ryan Nance August 24, 2013

Really just astounding. I have no idea how his skills compare to other tumblers, but I am certainly impressed.

Kenyan High Schoolers Doing The High Jump The Hard Way

Ryan Nance May 30, 2013

In the town of Mosoriot in Kenya, two high school athletes compete in the high jump. Without a mat to land on, the usual Fosbury Flop isn’t an option.

They land on their feet. Unreal.

Ryan Nance August 1, 2012

What a fun interactive way to explore the physical data of this year's Olympics. Yay BBC  Olympic Body Matcher.

4 - Olympic Athletes in Training

Ryan Nance July 19, 2012

London 2012 is nearly here. This set of photos had some surprises for me. I didn't know that Women's Boxing was making a debut. I hadn't really thought about how few athletes some countries are able to support and how much long and pride get put behind those few athletes.

1 - Art of Motion

Ryan Nance July 18, 2012

Capturing bodies in motion with long exposure photos so often leads to stunning imagery. This set is no different. I really like how it looks at both dancers, acrobats and athletes.
