Hiking in Greenland

Impressions from a 25-day hiking and packrafting expedition through the wilderness of extreme Southern Greenland in july 2013. I started in Narsarsuaq, crossed over all the way to Tasermiut fjord, and continued with an 8-day loop east of Tasiusaq before finally paddling towards Nanortalik. More on this trip: http://transscandinavia.wordpress.com

I have a hard time conjuring in my mind an image other than a world map when it comes to Greenland.

Everest Timelapse

http://www.eliasaikaly.com Experience the beauty of Mt. Everest at night in time-lapse. While most climbers slept, I attempted to capture some of the magic that the Himalayan skies have to offer while climbing to the top of the world. Here's a bit of what I endured at the end to make this possible: http://www.eliasaikaly.com/2013/05/into-the-death-zone/ One of the most rewarding parts of the journey was being able to share it with thousands of students on www.epals.com/everest This time lapse video is comprised of thousands of photographs, processed and assembled on Mt. Shot on a Canon 5D Mark II -Canon 2.8 16-35mm -Canon 2.8 24-70mm -Canon 2.8 70-200mm (which was way to heavy to carry beyond 6400M) -TL Remote was purchased off eBay Edited in Final Cut Pro Processed in Adobe LightRoom Movies compiled in Quicktime Music: A Heartbeat away purchased on http://goo.gl/AJZcM I hope you enjoy it. 2 - Source to Sea in 3 minutes

Have you ever seen an entire river? This is a 113 day journey down the Green and Colorado Rivers, from source to sea. We started in the Wind River Mountains, Wyoming in October 2011, and finished at the Sea of Cortez, Mexico in January 2012. The river begins as a trickle, carves ever deeper and more spectacular canyons, and is reduced to a trickle again by water diversions. For more information, please visit www.downthecolorado.org CREDITS Edit, Concept, Paddling, Camera- Will Stauffer-Norris (www.willstauffernorris.com) Paddling, Camera- Zak Podmore Original Music- Ed David Watkins (soundcloud.com/edwatkinsmusic) Support provided by The State of the Rockies Project (www.stateoftherockies.com), NRS (www.nrsweb.com), Liquidlogic (www.liquidlogickayaks.com), The Hulbert Center, and Werner

From the mountains of Wyoming to the Sea of Cortez in Mexico, photographers and adventurers Will Stauffer-Norris and Zak Podmore travelled more than 1,700 miles along the Green and Colorado Rivers. Leaving in October of 2011 and arriving in the Sea of Cortez in January of 2012, the two journeyed for 113 days.

2 - Shanghai Timelapse in Black and White

I've been in Shanghai for almost 4 years, during which I enjoyed a 3-year timelapse experience. The scenes from Shanghai's every corner almost certainly formed the main clips of my timelapse work. In Shanghai, usually I did timelapse whenever and wherever possible, no matter working or being on holiday, waking or sleeping (coz sometimes I left my camera working on the roof for the sunrise: P). Thus, I got tons of timelapse clips about this city. I never knew when I could make something from what I had gotten, until one day my friend LT came to me, talking about making a black-and-white Shanghai timelapse. It was really a cool idea to me. Soon I started coloring a couple of clips into BW just to get a little bit feeling. Later, it was a New York timelapse I saw before that gave me the inspiration of the music - deep male vocal, slight electronic, and storytelling. "The Books", which came to my mind, undoubtedly was a optimal match to my crossed line mood. I kept listening to their music until I found "Thirty Incoming". ... That is the whole preparation about this short. Producer: Luo Tong www.lpfilms.net Director, Cameraman, Editor: Liu Jia www.Jiavision.net Music: Thirty Incoming - The Books http://www.thebooksmusic.com/ Additional footage from Joe Nafis Opening picture from: Kevin Gu, Zokki Zhang, Lin Hang, Paul Shubsky, Liu Jia Equipment: Canon 5DMKII, Canon 550D, Canon Powershot A630 16-35mm/2.8, 24-105mm/4, 10-22mm, 18-135mm Edited with Final Cut Pro, graded with Colorista II and Nattress.

Awesome looking timelapse exploration of one of the world's most vibrant cities.

4 - Timelapse of the Swiss Alps

Lesen Sie auf deutsch bitte weiter unten. ‘Helvetia’s Dream’ takes you on a nighttime journey to some of the most beautiful spots in the Swiss Alps – from Arosa to Zermatt, including the world famous mountains Matterhorn and Eiger. Please pay special attention to the following scenes: @0:46 watch the persistent train of a bright meteor above Tijerflue Mountain in Arosa, December 2010, which was visible for about 20 minutes. A slow motion effect is applied for better visibility of the shooting star and its trail of ‘smoke’, which consists of ionized gas left behind as the meteor burns up in the atmosphere. @1:14 clouds above Lake Geneva steam up the lens. @1:36 on the very left: Climbers step into the unpredictable Eiger Nordwand. @1:44 the Milky Way rises above the ‘Donkey’ rock on Pilatus. @1:58 snowcats nearby cause the lighting of the summit cross on Fronalpstock Mountain. (Snowcat lights usually spoil time-lapse) @2:21 the wind changes the reflection of Säntis Mountain in the Seealpsee. @2:35 three settings showing orbits of stars. This is an alternative technique to display the movement of stars by sequentially adding the luminosity of each exposure. The result is basically a long exposure with a large aperture. @2:49 the waxing new moon, not full moon, setting over Pilatus. For the "making of" information and photo gallery check out the project website www.helvetiabynight.com. ‘Helvetia by Night’ is a time-lapse project about Switzerland by night. Short videos of long nights present you the stunning beauty of the Swiss Alps and show you the magic of a spectacular nighttime sky. Imagine watching a slide-show at fast speed or looking at a flip book. It is photography turning into a movie. Everything in the videos is real and happening out there while most of us are sleeping. Some words about me: I grew up in Arosa, a small paradise in the mountains of eastern Switzerland located 1800m above sea level. Inspired by such great scenery, photography has become my passion early in life. Since 2005 I work as press photographer for the Swiss press photo agency KEYSTONE in Zurich. Time-lapse photography became a favorite hobby of mine in the year 2011. Besides that I am doing some other private work which can be found here: www.dellabella.ch Have fun watching the time-lapse videos! Alessandro Della Bella

4 - The North of Finland

Finnish Lapland is the extraordinary region on the northern edge of the world. It's a land full of extremes. When it's quiet, it's dead silent. When it's light, it's light 24/7. And when it's dark, it's dark for week after week. Lapland and northern Finland are among the world's last wildernesses, which you can experience with the help of modern infrastructure and a wide range of services. Our attraction is the wilderness that makes every other place feel ordinary. 5 - Journey Through Iceland

Like us on Facebook: www.facebook.com/evosiastudios Follow us on Twitter: www.twitter.com/evosia Website: www.evosiastudios.com A joint collaboration with rock / ambient / experimental band MONO (www.monoishere.com), Legend takes you on an epic 12 minute visual and aural journey through Iceland's breathtaking landscapes during the time of the midnight sun. The film travels across Iceland, from the floating blue icebergs of Jokulsarlon's glacial lagoon to the steaming geothermic vents of Myvatn, the colorful mountains of Landmannalaugar to the breathtaking sunsets on Snaefellnes Peninsula, and the barren volcanic landscapes of Askja to the vast fields of lupin near Husavik. Legend was shot over a 2 week period in June 2012 when the sun barely sets below the horizon and you never see darkness. It was filmed completely in 5K resolution using Canon full frame DSLRs on motion timelapse equipment from Kessler Crane. Mono's score of the same name, Legend, is from their upcoming album "For my parents". Its edgy cinematic and epic quality helps describe Iceland - a breathtakingly beautiful yet unforgivingly dangerous place. The album is available for pre-order: http://www.monoishere.com/2012/07/30/pre-order-for-my-parents-now/ We would like to thank the following supporters for making this film possible: Kessler Crane: www.KesslerCrane.com Glacier Rental Car: www.glaciercarrental.is Special thanks to Egill Agustsson and Adalsteinn Petur Karlsson of Husavik for their help with my car problems on Iceland National Day. It's the country's biggest holiday and they helped me get back on the road so I could continue filming. Last but not least, a big thank you to fellow filmmaker Joe Capra (www.scientifantastic.com) for his guidance and inspiration. His tips and advice were invaluable in helping me prepare for this trip. A 4K version will be released soon, along with a behind the scenes video! Please follow or subscribe to us to receive the latest updates.
