A Dream Treehouse Built by a Road Trip Photographer

Ryan Nance July 9, 2015

Photographer Foster Huntington built this treehouse in Washington State near Oregon and called it 'The Cinder Cone'.

"[I was] inspired by the people and places I’d seen during my time on the road".

His kickstarter campaign is for the gorgeous book of photos documenting the whole process and end result.

In the Spring of 2014 a small group of close friends broke ground on a building project in Skamania County, Washington in the Columbia River Gorge. Their primary endeavor was a multi-platform tree house, but also included a skate bowl and a wood fired soaking tub as well. The crew came from all over the country and from a variety of backgrounds. Some were professional carpenters, others learned on the job, gaining experience along the way. The Cinder Cone is Foster Huntington’s short film that documents this year-long process of building his dream home with this community of tight knit friends. The Treehouse of So Many of Our Dreams

Ryan Nance August 18, 2014

In a series of trees outside Atlanta, architect Peter Bahouth has constructed this network of houses in the trees, with a series of bridges connecting them. The owner named the three rooms ‘Mind,’ ‘Body’ and ‘Spirit’. Photographer Lindsay Appel took these amazing photos of them in her book, My Cool Shed.
