Photographers of the Byron Company took a picture of themselves on the roof of their studio. Joseph Byron, Ben Falk are holding the camera, Pirie MacDonald, Colonel Marceau and Pop Core are in the middle.
It is one of 23,000 images digitized by the Museum of the City of New York from the studio.
The Photographer of "VJ Day, The Kiss" liked to put himself in the picture. From Marilyn Monroe and Frank Lloyd Wright to Mia Farrow and J. Robert Oppenheimer, Alfred Eisenstaedt’s photographs have captured some of the most iconic images of our shared imagination. So it is a great deal of fun, and a bit of surprise, to see him put himself in the frame.
