5 - Ai Wei Wei: never sorry

Ryan Nance July 30, 2012

You'd think that those folks in charge of handling dissidents and artists would learn early on that tactics meant to silence actually just amplify. Ai Wei Wei for example has reached a height as an international art figure not just on his work, but on what his work is opposed by. His complaints (even after being jailed for a couple of months) are available in English on https://twitter.com/aiwwenglish/

Here, American Alison Klayman, a first-time filmmaker living in China decided to follow Ai on film. It is a tale as much about his art as his way of being handled by the National government.
