Shanghai-based artist Yang Yongliang has taken the eyes and heart of the more traditional Chinese landscape and calligraphy, and invested it with the expressive ability of the newest technology and techniques, including digital manipulation, video and photography.

"As long as the characteristics don't change, the media you use to express the art doesn't matter."

I think these landscapes in Chinese Porcelain are pretty amazing, and I am absolutely in love with the video landscapes.

Here is a sample of the video referenced in the Creator's Project piece:

Each dot represents a check-in during this 96 hour period. Super fascinating to see the different types of check-ins ripple across the city as time of day effects the rhythm of all of these individuals in a fairly regular pattern.

Amazing short film titled "Choros":

A chorus of women are borne from the movements of a single dancer in this dreamlike "pas de trente-deux."

"Choros" premiered at Clermont-Ferrand International Short Film Festival in 2012 and has gone on to play dozens of festivals worldwide. The film is currently broadcast in Europe by Canal+.

my pick - 5 things to buy a shoestring traveller - Devereau Chumrau
Even though some of my picks may appear to be "un-shoestring like," the main concern here is that you "shoestring" the trip and not the preparation for the trip.  Anyone who has tried to skimp in the beginning will probably end up paying much more later on... The makers of Twitter have release VIne. You get 6 seconds of video (and sound) to tell a bite sized story. A lot of the ethos of twitter, in video.

So slick and easy UI helps make this a fun little app. It will be interesting to see how well it lets me express and experience the things I want to express and experience.

You can find me through my twitter @rtsnance
